How do fireworks affect pets during celebrations?

Updated: Aug 3, 2019

Dogs and cats have more sensitive hearing than humans and can hear a sound almost imperceptible to us. In the same way, loud noises can cause tachycardia, fear and even death.

Dogs and cats have a higher hearing capacity than humans and large wave densities per second.

Most accidents with animals occur when they try to escape and take shelter from excessive noise (like firecrackers). Many times, they run away and are run over by cars. They can also go through glass doors that cause large cuts. These accidents can end with the death of the animal.

The truth is that explosions of fireworks disturb dogs and affect their senses. A disturbed, frightened or disturbed animal can become violent even with its own owner.

In some cases dogs can lose their hearing if a firecracker explode nearby, but with a treatment they can recover it. Another problem is that the animal tries to grab the firecracker and it explodes in its mouth, causing serious damage.

Tremors and tachypnea (continuous gasping) are the signs that can be observed most frequently in a dog. In addition to these symptoms, the animal may also have salivation, tachycardia, increased activity, alertness and gastrointestinal disorders.

In the case of cats, it is different because the noise goes unnoticed. Usually, they try to hide. They find shelter quickly and stay there until they feel safe and leave.

Humans can only perceive sounds of up to 20,000 cycles per second, while the hearing capacity of dogs is much greater, capturing high frequency sounds; of 60000 cycles per second, that is to say that the roar produced by the pyrotechnics they perceive maximized
